Collecting Like Terms

Today in class, we talked about the magic of COLLECTING LIKE TERMS.(rainbow)

4x + 6x = 20

You would add like terms, to simplify;

4x + 6x (just add the numbers, because the variable will always be the same).

Now, with that you would cancle out, but what you do to one side, you must do to the other, So your left with one variable;

10x = 20
/10 /10
x = 2
Now, a bit harder;
5x - 3 + 4x = 24
add; 9x - 3 = 24
cancel; 9x - 3 = 24+3
/9 +3 /9
One variable left; x = 3
That's the just. Enjoy.
