Becky's scribe
sorry it's late!

There are two parts to a fracton, there is the denominator and a numerator.

The denominator is the bottom part of a fraction It tells you how big or small the parts are

The numerator is the top part of a fraction. It says how many parts of the whole

If the numerator and the denominator are the same then you have 1 whole.
If the numerator is larger than the denominator than it is an improper fraction, or you have more than 1 whole.

(The first one is halfs the seccond is thirds, and the third is eighths)

As the denominator gets bigger the the equal parts get smaller
