Kay uhhhh in class we learned about Equivalent Fractions.

To make an equivalent fraction you have to break the denomenator into smaller piececs. 1/2 = 3/6. You have the same amount but different sizes.

To make an equivalent fraction you need to change the numerator and denomenator equally. Like so...
