MY Growing Post ( not yurs).

this shows how to make equivalent fractions.http://www.themathpage.com/ARITH/add-fractions-subtract-fractions-1.htm

4)A) i ate 3/4 of a chocolate bar, and my friend kirsten ate 2/3 of a chocolate bar. How many chocolate bars did we eat in total?

b) Some one was hungry, so they got exactly 15 3/4 cookies. Unfortuneatly, when Someone was not looking, Someone's cat, Somebody, ate 11 1/3 cookies. (Someone's cat was very good at fractions.) how many cookies are left for Someone?

5) i was unable to leave comments, cuz my computer is bein wonky, so here are the answers to 1)myla's post 2)Marcio's post 3) Janessa 8-73

1)A 4 4/2 - 3 3/2 = 1 1/2 . B) the second question did not make sense to me.

2) A) 2/4 + 2/3 = (6/12 + 8/12) = 14/12 OR 1 1/6.

3)A) 3/4 + 2/3 = (9/12 + 8/12) = 17/12 OR 1 5/12. B) 2 3/5 - 1 1/3 (9/15 - 5/15) = 1 4/15.

6) this site explains adding and subtracting frations in text and uses examples. http://www.themathpage.com/ARITH/add-fractions-subtract-fractions-1.htm
